In 1978 Ludwig Güttler founded the brass ensemble for trumpeters. It brings together soloists of the Dresden State Orchestra of Saxony, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Robert-Schumann-Philharmonic (Chemnitz). The ensemble was quickly able to shine with its dazzling way of playing music, thanks to Güttler’s musical proficiency to convey his long years of experience as a soloist and chamber music player to the brass ensemble. The ensemble’s programmes include some formerly unknown or seldom played musical works, which Güttler unearthed and made playable. The brass ensemble’s concerts enjoy large popularity with a wide audience; and at the same time the musicians contribute to making ceremonial acts and similar events a success. Concert tours throughout Europe and Asia, numerous CD recordings, productions for TV and radio complement the ensemble’s creative and rich vita.
