Distinct Ties to Choir Activities
Güttler’s early involvement in church choirs and choirs back in his youth marked him tremendously. As a member of the Sächsischer Singkreis (a choir comprised of students of the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig), a member of the Meißner Kantorei 1961 (a Dresden church choir), and as the director of the student’s choir of the evangelical student community Leipzig, he lay the foundation for his distinct ties to choir engagements. His involvement in choirs was intensified by the numerous invitations he received to perform as a trumpet soloist with symphonic choirs such as the Leipzig St. Thomas Church Choir, the Dresden Kreuz Choir, the Munich Motet Choir, the Bachchor Mainz and powerful church choirs in West and East Germany. Over the last years, Güttler has conducted numerous concerts and CD recordings with the Thüringischer Akademischer Singkreis, the Studio Vocale Karlsruhe, the German-Polish Choral Academy in terra pax, the Concentus Vocalis Vienna, the Sächsisches Vocalensemble, the Dresden Motet Choir and the Hallenser Madrigalisten. He shares a particular tight bondage and intense working relationship with the last three mentioned choirs.
